J. Crew has really been on my radar lately. Not only is this collection magnificently styled, but the brand has really evolved from preppy to sassy. This collection integrates the key elements in dressing for Spring. I combined a brief list of what I consider the must-haves this upcoming season:
Orange lipstick: It's surprisingly flattering and with so many color variations out there, it's impossible to not find the right shade for you. Try my current favorites like YSL's Le Orange or NARS Heat Wave. Both are without parabens and infused with moisturizing ingredients like Vitamin E.
Denim: denim had a comeback last Spring, and its definitely been on a winning streak. Whether you're wearing it in a button-down version or in the new 70's silhouette trousers, denim is huge and it seems to be here to stay.
Sequin: Referring back to my French wardrobe guide, when layered with neutrals, sequined pieces make you stand out. It's all about mixing the highs and lows together.
The suit: Whether you're going for the full length minimalist look or the short length one, suits make you look instantly refined. Go buy one now. (added bonus: you can mix and match and wear them as separates).
Brights: Combining prints and bright colors are no doubt key elements for Spring dressing. Whether you choose an accessory (refer back to my Proenza Schouler accessory post) or a bright cardigan. Bottom line, any drab ensemble can turn chic when you add a pop of color. Just don't go overboard.
And there you have it ladies, a little recap of the upcoming season. Follow me on bloglovin' for more fun.
